PGDGT-1101  Introduction to Tourism

Aims and Objectives

  1. To provide a broad overview of tourism from a geographic perspective.
  2. To provide a peer-reviewed forum for the presentation and discussion of geographic perspectives on tourism and tourism-related areas of recreation and leisure studies.
  3. To help students in geography use the foundation that they had been building to learn about a new topic and to help students in tourism look at their topic from a new perspective.

    PGDGT-1102  Geography of Myanmar

    The main aim is to be familiar with the Geography of Myanmar Tourism point of view.

    Aims and Objectives

    1. To know the size, shape, boundaries and physiographical bases and facts in Myanmar.
    2. To study the geographical locations and related to tourist attractive areas, and

    3. To highlight the outstanding factors interrelated to about States and Regions.

      PGDGT-1103  Tourism Geography

      This module provides an introduction to the relationship between tourism and geography with a focus on geographical theories and facts pertaining to tourism. It provides overviews of fundamental tourism definitions and concepts.It focuses on how spatial patterns of modern tourism have evolved through time from regional to global geographies. The topics include tourism development and spatial change, tourism relation and understanding the spaces of tourism.

      Aims and Objectives

      1. To understand the nature of tourists and tourism.
      2. To classify the tourism is an intensely geographic phenomenon, and spatial relation spatial differentiation is depending upon the types of tourism.
      3. To know the early tourism, give to the relationship between leisure, recreation,knowledge or memories and tourism, but now are change to the development Community Based Tourism.

      PGDGT-1104  Sustainable Tourism 

      Aims and Objectives

      1. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the main sustainable tourism definitions, concepts, nature and scope,
      2. To know sustainable is important role for sustainable development,
      3. To recognize the needs for sustainable tourism development,
      4. To provide insight into the relationship between tourism and environment,
      5. To understand the rise and fall of destination area and then to explore how to sustain the area and
      6. To realize the concepts of sustainability with its economic, environmental and social dimensions, and it application of tourism.

      Semester II

      PGDGT-1105  Impact of Tourism

      Aims and Objectives

      1. To discuss various preventive measures for negative environmental and socioeconomic impact of tourism.

      2. To discuss positive sides of tourism on environment.
      3. To understand major social and economic changes that have contributed to the growth of tourism.

      4. To be aware of a number of dimensions and components of tourism, viz. the components of the tourism industry, motivations for tourism, tourism systems, data limitations in tourism;

      The main aim is to be understand the socio-economic development depend on Tourism Sector.

        3. To know the culture, geography and history of tourism in Southeast Asia Countries.To access the condition of tourism in Southeast Asia
        PGDGT-1108  Research Methods in Tourism Geography

        Aims and Objectives

        1. To describe and define Research and scientific research,
        2. To recognize the research problems,
        3. To understand how to collect the data for research paper,
        4. To provide which methods or techniques useful for the Geography of tourism,
        5. To carry out interviews
        6. To discuss the advantage and disadvantage of interviews,
        7. To understand the quantitatives and qualitative research and
        8. To describe how to analyze and present data and how to write report of complete of research
